How to Download Your Instagram Data

1. Go to accountscenter.instagram.com/info_and_permissions
   • Be sure you're signed into the correct account
2. "Your information and permissions" on the left menu
3. "Download your information"
4. "Download or transfer information"
5. "Some of your information" (critical time-saver)
6. Scroll down to connections and select only "Followers & Following"
7. "Next"
8. "Download to Device"
9. Change Date range to "All time" and Format to "JSON"
10. Page should look like this:
11. "Create Files"
12. Note: This usually takes ≤ 5 minutes, but might be longer the first time

After Requesting the Download:

• You'll receive an email from Instagram confirming the request and another one when it's complete. Both links will bring you back to the same page.
• When it's done processing, it will switch from "in progress" to "available".
• The file will save as a .zip file that looks like "instagram-user-2024-01-01-etc.zip".
